Özet

Purpose: To examine the relationship between the Voice-Related Quality of Life Scale (V-RQOL), Voice Handicap Index 10 (VHI 10) scores of teachers who are at risk in terms of the possibility of experiencing voice problems, and to evaluate the results of group education in which vocal hygiene education with telepractice method will be applied.

Materials and Methods: A total of 119 teachers (81.8% female, 18.2% male) participated in the study. To collect data, a form was prepared for teachers to fill out. The first part of the form includes personal information, and the second part includes the sections on sound use and sound problems. VHI 10 and V-RQOL were used to question the presence of voice problems of the participants. It was aimed to measure the perception of the individual's own voice disorder by using the VHI. Participants with a VHI score of 11 and above were considered to have voice problems. VHI results of 11 participants were found to be higher than 11 and a single session of vocal hygiene training was applied to these individuals. One month after the training was given, VHI and V-RQOL were re-administered to the participants who received the training.

Results: At the end of the study, when the pre-test and post-test results of the individuals who received vocal hygiene training were examined 1 month after the training, it was observed that there was a statistically significant difference between the tests applied (p 0.05). In addition, a high correlation rate was observed between the two tests used in the evaluation.

Discussion and Conclusion: At the end of the study, when the evaluation results of the individuals who received vocal hygiene training 1 month after the training were examined; It was observed that there was a decrease in VHI scores (from moderate and severe to mild and normal), and there was a correlation between VHI and V-RQOL test results.
