Rapid first derivative spectrophotometric determination of caffeine and chlorphenoxamine hydrochloride in their binary mixture was described. The method has been succesfully applied to a sugar-coated tablet marketing in Turkey and containing caffeine and chlorphenoxamine hydrochloride. Derivative molar absorbancy values were calculated at 230.1 nm and 259.2 nm and the quantitation of caffeine and chlorphenoxamine hydrochloride has been realized by solving simultaneously the equations with two unknown. The relative standard deviation of the method was found to be % 1.43 and % 1.01 for caffeine and chlorphenoxamine hydrochloride respectively.
