Abstract

Epidural analgesia is a safe anesthetic technique in the elderly and high risk patients. We report an eighty year old patient who developed a transient hoarseness during a transurethral prostate resection under epidural anesthesia. Although the complication was transient and without long term effects, the quality of anesthesia for the patient was not satisfactory.
