Purpose: Patellofemoral malalignment syndrome is a syndrome characterized by pain including patellar subluxation, tilt and tilt with patellar subluxation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a conservative physiotherapy-rehabilitation program in patellofemoral pain syndrome originated from patellofemoral malalignment. Material and methods: Seventeen subjects participated in this study. Pain, patellar tilt, congruence and sulcus angles obtained from magnetic resonance imaging, Cincinnati knee activity scale, hamstring muscle and iliotibial band tightness, measurement of Q angle, thigh girth measurement and ankle biomechanical evaluations were compared before and after treatment. Results: Statistically significant differences were found in favour of after treatment (p<0.05) in all tests except thigh girth measurement (p>0.05). Conclusion: In this study, conservative physiotherapy-rehabilitation programme has given positive results in patellofemoral pain syndrome. The necessities of using detailed assessment techniques in determining the effectiveness of the treatment are emphasised.
