Interventional cardiac catheterization procedures have provided significant advance in the non-operatif treatment of many congenital heart defects. Recently, transcatheter device placement has been successfully used for closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD) as well as patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. But, transcatheter VSD closures are often associated with major hemodynamic disturbances and procedures are more complex and prolonged. In this case study, the sedation management for transcatheter VSD closure procedures is presented.
