Cricoarytenoid joint is one of the affected joints in rheumatoid arthritis. Hoarseness, stridor, dyspnea, difficulty in speaking and swallowing may develop according to the severity of the lesion. Acute joint involvement, can lead to acute airway obstruction, serious respiratory failure and even death by swelling of the vokal cords during intercurrent infections. Cricoarytenoid joints involvement can be diagnosed by laryngoscopic examination and CT imaging. Hereby, a 64 years old male with cricoarytenoid joints involvement together with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis is presented.
