Abstract
In this paper, rapid first derivative UV spectrophotometric assay procedures are described for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol, phenobarbital and acetylsalicylic acid in their binary mixtures. The methods have been successfully applied to the suppositories containing paracetamol phenobarbital and paracetamol acetylsalicylic acid combinations. The relative standard deviation was found to be 0.28% for paracetamol at 263.2 nm and 0.66% for phenobarbital at 218.2 nm in the first combination, and 0.48% for paracetamol at 255.8 nm and 0.64% for acetylsalicylic acid at 218.6 nm in the second combination.
