In recent years, more effective and less toxic treatment protocols have been developed to rise the cure rates in intermediate and high grade non- Hodgkin's lymphoma. The present study was undertaken to investigate the activity and toxicity of MINE combination chemotherapy in intermediate and high grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Twenty-one patient (16 male, 5 female, age range 26 to 70 years) with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma were included in the study. An overall response rate of 73% and complete response rate of 56% were achieved. An overall survival rate for responded patients accounted for 44% at 48 months. There were not any serious side effects except mild myelosuppression, nausea-vomiting and alopecia. This study showed that MINE protocol might be an effective first-line treatment alernative for intermediate high grade patients with NHL.
