Three cases of kala-azar were treated at our clinic in 1992. First case was 26 years old female from Erdemli (Icel), second 32 years old male from Yeni Fakili (Yozgat) and the last 33 years old female from Incesu (Kayseri). All the patients had prolonged high fever. Two had also massive splenomegaly behind high fever. Diagnosis was established by showing Leishmania donovani on bone marrow materials. Parasite was also present on lymph node and liver biopsies in the first case. Antileishmanial therapy was given as meglumine antimonate (Glucantime®). First case had relapsed two times and was given two more cures, while the second had one relapse and was given one more cure. Splenectomy was performed to the second and the third cases.
