Prof. MÜRVET HAYRAN

Prof. Hayran MD, born in Edirne on May 5, 1961, graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. Dr. Mürvet Hayran made the state service obligation in Cizre Tuberculosis Dispensary, Cizre State Hospital Emergency Service, while working for TAI and Italian SAIPEM SpA. Occupational medicine has also fulfilled its duties. In 1990, she completed her specialist education at Hacettepe University, Anatomy Sub-department of the Morphology Department. She has completed the rotation in the Histology-Embryology Sub-Department of the Department of Morphology after her specialist education. She has completed courses in advanced general and special histology as a graduate student; she also finished a master's course in basic statistical concepts in cancer in 2014. Prof Hayran was appointed an instructor in 1991 and an assistant professor in 1992 in the Anatomy department of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Hayran also had a one-year training rotation for the Histology-Embryology Department. Prof Hayran received her associate professorship in 1995. In 2001, she was a member of the Cell Biology and Physiology Department of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Electron Microscope, CLSM techniques, and its use as a guest teaching staff at the Biological Imaging Center, and immunohistochemical techniques. She was appointed professor in 2002.

Prof. Hayran managed the microscopic anatomy lab, including the electron microscope unit and the Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM) Laboratory. Prof Hayran, who has done her specialist thesis on "Cochlea's vascularization with light and stereomicroscopes", studies on the inner ear and nose microanatomy and clinical anatomy, as well as the scoring that can be used in studies on different tissues and organs in microscopic anatomy, and has also participated in the development of biomaterials and the field of medical use. It has 78 publications listed in SCI and over 1200 citations. The H-index is 21. Professor Mürvet Hayran, MD, was chairperson of Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy. She retired in October 2015, driven by her desire to live in Izmir. She worked at Izmir University of Economics between 2017-2025. She later returned to Ankara in February 2025 upon receiving an offer from Lokman Hekim University, and she has been continuing his work at this university since then.
